Food poisoning in Singapore (part 2) and relaxing in Langkawi E-mail

Singapore by night
It wasn't me who got food poisoning this time, but it was unfortunate nevertheless.

We still managed to do the NightSafari in Singapore Zoo, which was great, and visited the beautiful zoo in daytime as well as the infamous BodyWorlds exhibition. Different, but interesting. We stayed near Little India, close to shops and public transport. The hotel was OK, but twice as expensive as the luxurious one in KL and a lot less luxurious.

The weather forecast for Langkawi was rain and thunderstorms, and as it rained every day in Singapore we almost considered going somewhere else. But we had booked our tickets and hoped it wouldn't rain all the time, so off we went. The flight had a lot of turbulence and we were greeted by rain, but to our surprise the next 5 days were lovely! We woke up to sunshine every day and heard no more of the thunderstorms. Will never trust online weather forecasts again.

Nemo, Langkawi

There isn't much to do in Langkawi, but we went on a snorkeling/diving trip (unfortunately I found the waves on the little island too big for snorkeling, but the beach was nice) and found Nemo.

We also met some Danes and entertained ourselves the Scandinavian way on the 1-hour boat ride back to town.

Beer

One day we got a cab to the GeoPark area and went to a hilltop by cable car, great views and a scary but cool skywalk!

The beach was a nice place to hang out too, although some of us got a little lobster-coloured. Hint: It was not me.

Cenang beach

Speaking of lobster, a hotel staff member recommended a fantastic seafood restaurant called Wonderland 500 m from the hotel. It had plastic chairs and a public toilet across the street (without toilet paper, I might add). The plates were plastic too. The place was packed and we had to move fast as soon as a table was free. We were not disappointed. We shared the most delicious fried soft shell crab, fried fish with the best oyster sauce I've ever tasted, huge prawns and the star of the show: The lobster, grilled or with pepper sauce or chili sauce. It was an Australian lobster with no claws, but still lovely! The price: less than 50 USD (300 NOK) for tons of food and drink. The second and third time we were there the staff recognized us and even remembered what we had the other days.

Lobster

The rest of the days we just relaxed, did some shopping and planned the rest of our trip. Hope I won't get spoiled with all these lobster meals and clean hotels ...
