My last few days in Australia (in the not too distant future, anyway) were spent in Perth.
The weather was lovely, between 24 and 37 degrees and sunny, sunny, sunny!! I stayed with a couchsurfing friend I met in Oslo last year, and he showed me around in this lovely place!! It's not too big, not too small, has great shopping and beaches close nearby. What more can you ask for? I was also able to catch up with a Perth local I met in New Zealand.
This is the view from King's park at night.
I spent a day on Cottesloe beach when my friend was working. Windy, but relaxing!

We went to Fremantle, a cosy little harbour town just south of Perth and saw the markets, a statue of a Freo celebrity (first AC/DC singer) and had delicious pizza and beer at a local brewery/trendy resto.
The last day we went to Rottnest Island ("Rotto" to the locals), did a 90 minute boatride around the island, walked around a bit and relaxed on a lovely beach. It was paradise!

The little rat-like marsupials calles Quokkas were everywhere, and we also saw dolphins, sea lions, an osprey (a sort of sea eagle), parrots and New Zealand fur seals (which I had seen twice before, but they are soooo cute!!) cooling their fins.

This is one of the beaches with a lighthouse in the background.
Soon I will fly to Malaysia for the final 2 months of my trip in South East Asia, I can't believe how time flies when traveling!
