5 tips for surviving India Remember that India is very different from Western countries. Culture clashes are unavoidable!
For instance, spitting, burping, staring and throwing rubbish where you stand is just how it is in India. There is nothing you can do about it, so just ignore it and throw your rubbish in the bin to set a good example. So just don't fight it! Go with the flow and don't get worked up over lacking English skills, dirty bathrooms and impossible train booking hours.Do the local thing. Eat the food, wear the clothes and talk to the locals when you have the opportunity. Always carry a smile! Be polite and always say thank you. Make sure you praise the country when someone asks how you like their India. Remember that you are an ambassador of your country when you are traveling.Be prepared. Always bring toilet paper, small change, mosquito repellent, antibacterial gel and so on.Be careful. Dress modestly, avoid walking in dark alleys at night, don't keep all your money and credit cards in one place, and don't flash expensive items around.
