USB battery charger

In the series Electronic Travel Gadgets there is one you cannot do without unless you want to buy batteries all the time: The battery charger. It is tempting to bring electronics that don't require a charger (because you know you will leave the hotel without it at some point), but then you need to bring batteries and battery charger instead.

This brilliant USB charger is very light, charges both AA and AAA batteries and hardly takes up any space at all. Being a woman, multitasking is my middle name and I don't think it will be a problem remembering to use it when I power up my laptop somewhere.

Things I brought that require batteries (actually fewer than I thought):
Handheld fan (thanks Kirsten!)
Pocket shaver (dry shave is practical when in a hurry, long bathroom lines or water is scarce)

Camera

I got an Olympus Mju tough digital compact camera. It's shock proof against falls from up to 1,5 meters (4,9 ft), waterproof down to 3 meters(9,8 ft). Every time I get a new camera, I drop it. I have broken 2 so far, but this one should last a little longer. It's great for snorkeling!

iPod

Not sure if I should bring it or not, but I decided to go for it. It can be used for other things than music, check out my article about free podcasts and more as well as these cool language guides from Worldnomads:

I decided to take my old SE T610. I also got a silicone cover and a little bag for it as well as the USB charger.

Essential. Take one as small as possible and check if you need a converter as well (girls tend to forget this - I must admit I'm not too sureabout these things myself ...

Seeing my list I am starting to feel like a flashpacker and wonder what I'll do if I lose one or they get broken/stolen ... I am a gadgoholic.First step is admitting you have a problem.
